HeyJEIN Terms of Service
1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of HeyJEIN (heyjein.com) and the platforms built on it (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, connecting an integration, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.
2. The Service
HeyJEIN collects signals from sources you choose to connect — email, calendars, contacts, feeds and manual captures — and helps you triage and act on them. Features may be added, changed or removed as the Service develops.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
- You are responsible for having the right to connect any account, mailbox or data source you connect, and for complying with any terms that apply to it.
4. Connected accounts
When you connect a third-party account (such as Google), you authorize the Service to access that account on your behalf, limited to the permissions you granted and to the purposes described in the Privacy Policy. You may disconnect any integration at any time from Settings, which revokes the access token and deletes the stored credential. Actions the Service performs on your behalf — sending a reply, creating a calendar event, saving a contact — happen only when you initiate them.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to store or transmit unlawful content;
- Send spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or anything deceptive or fraudulent;
- Access accounts, mailboxes or data you are not authorized to access, or use the Service to surveil someone without their knowledge where the law requires it;
- Attempt to breach, probe or circumvent the Service’s security, rate limits or access controls;
- Reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or resell access to the Service without our written permission;
- Interfere with the Service’s operation or with other users’ use of it;
- Upload malware or anything designed to damage a system or dataset.
6. Your content
You keep all rights to the content you create, capture or connect. You grant us only the limited licence needed to host, process, back up and display that content in order to operate the Service for you. We claim no ownership of it, and we do not use it to train AI models.
7. Availability
The Service is provided on an as-available basis. We do not guarantee any level of uptime, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance, or change or discontinue features, at any time. Where practical, we will give notice of significant changes.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your content is deleted in accordance with the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy. You may request an export of your data before closing your account.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any signal, summary or suggestion it produces will be accurate or complete. You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HEYJEIN WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the fullest extent permitted.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold HeyJEIN harmless from any claim arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. The “Last updated” date above will change, and continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
